Swift Assisted Living now offers supported living accommodation services right in the heart of Birmingham and surrounding areas.
This service provides high-quality supportive environments for people with learning disabilities, autism and associated needs, in the heart of local communities. The development of our supported living accommodation aims to look beyond simple housing provision and incorporates the following aspects of good practice:
Adoption of person-centred approach in supporting service users, their families and other healthcare professionals in identifying the needs of our service users and working collaboratively in planning support to meet the identified and assessed care needs.
The provision of high quality care services with a flexible approach that’s tailored to meet the needs of the people we support.
Offering a homely and friendly environment where service users will be at the driving seat in planning their support and taking into account individual values, desires, preferences and expressed needs.
The provision of a service that is culturally sensitive
The promotion of equal opportunities, fair access, diversity and inclusion
Through quality support and housing services, service users will be helped to gain the life skills they need to build the foundations for independent living.
The promotion of strong links with the local community enabling social integration. Actively supporting service users to access public transport, education and employment opportunities as well as aiding activities of daily living including recreational activities.
Our team of dedicated and experienced care and support workers not only provide day-to-day support with daily living skills and community engagement, they also provide encouragement and motivation, reassurance and emotional support. Service users will also be supported to live positively in a homely environment in the community including managing their own personal care, budgeting, meal planning and meal preparation and the management of their respective medication. Some people may require only a few hours support a week; others may need continual support and care. Our support packages are flexible and affordable for all, especially those who receive care through direct payment scheme or service.
We acknowledge and recognise the fact that service users’ wishes and requirements change over time and during different life span situations. That is why we hold regular individual review meetings with service users and their families and other relevant professionals in order to monitor and evaluate the services we offer, and adapt to the plan accordingly.
